Apple TV has picked up a second season of the British mystery series Down Cemetery Road, extending its run with more twists and intrigue.
The show builds on characters created by Mick Herron and stars Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson as modern-day private investigators.
“I’m thrilled that Down Cemetery Road has resonated enough to deserve another season,” Thompson said in a Friday statement. “Working again with this fantastic team, with Morwenna Banks steering at the writing helm and Ruth Wilson—the consummate, brilliant co-star any seasoned actor could hope for—feels more than I could have imagined.” She added, “Zoë Boehm is a bold, punky avatar, and I can’t wait to slip back into her knock-off Doc Martens. Thanks to everyone who watched—we’re greenlit for what’s next, and it’s all thanks to you.”
In Season 2, Zoë and Sarah confront a serial killer, heightening the danger and the stakes for their investigations.
Mick Herron also created Apple TV’s Slow Horses, linking the new season to Herron’s broader spy-fiction universe.
