Dubai, UAE, November 19, 2025 - On the sidelines of the prestigious Dubai Airshow, a historic agreement was signed. Matar Al Romaithi, Director General of Industry Development at Tawazun, emphasized the significance of this collaboration. "It's a pivotal moment for the UAE's aviation sector. We're talking about seamless collaboration and optimization of our national airspace resources."
The initiative is designed to bring together various aviation stakeholders in the UAE, ensuring a harmonious and efficient air traffic flow. And this is the part most people miss: it's not just about technology; it's about fostering local talent and economic growth through Emiratization and in-house software development.
Thales, a global leader in advanced technologies, will collaborate with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Global Air Navigation Services (GANS) to develop this cutting-edge ATFM system. The project will utilize Thales' proven ATFM software as a foundation, but the real innovation lies in co-developing new features within an ATM Innovation Lab - a first for the UAE.
